KazMunayGas and Abu Dhabi Ports have agreed to increase the tanker fleet for transportation across the Caspian Sea

Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas (KMG) Magzum Mirzagaliyev held talks with Chairman of the Management Board of Abu Dhabi Ports Group (ADP) By Mohamed Juma Al-Shamisi via video conference call.
The parties discussed the development strategy of the Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions (CIMS) joint venture, officially registered and operating since February of this year.
During the talks, the heads of KMG and ADP focused on the issues of further expansion of the CIMS tanker fleet in order to transport oil in the waters of the Caspian and Black Seas. So, at present, the joint venture plans to purchase tankers with a deadweight of 8-12 thousand tons.  
The parties also discussed increasing the capabilities of the Aframax/Suezmax fleet used in open seas. Today, NMSK Kazmortransflot LLP (a subsidiary of KMG) and ADP already have their own tankers pool, which successfully operates in the open seas.
In addition, the participants of the negotiations focused on the development of the service fleet for the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.
